Stackridge: The missing jewel in the crown that is British pop music

Stackridge have reformed and are performing, writing and recording again. Their current Album "A Victory For Common Sense" was produced by Chris Hughes who has cast his magic spell over recordings by Robert Plant,Paul McCartney and Tears For Fears.

Writers Andy Davis and James Warren also formed the successful duo The Korgis in 1979 with International Hit Singles including the ever popular "Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime", which was featured on the soundtrack of the Jim Carrey movie "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind". Their songs have been covered by many artists over the ensuing years and Stackridge do include several of their songs in their live set.Even more exciting is the news that The Korgis plan to go on the road & perform live in 2015 ! Keep checking The Korgis Web Site for the latest updates =

2014 sees the 40th Anniversary of the George Martin produced Album "The Man In The Bowler Hat" , which is still regarded as one of George's finest achievements outside his Beatles canon.

The current live line up - Andy Davis ( Guitar/Vocals/Ukulele /Keyboards), James Warren ( Bass Guitar/Vocals),Clare Lindley( Violin/Guitar/Vocals/Ukulele),Eddie John (Drums/Ukulele/Glockenspiel) and Glenn Tommey ( Keyboards/Vocals/Trombone/Flute) were busy again in 2014 with Gigs up & down the UK. They take a well earned break for at least the first half of 2015 , but will be on the road again in the Autumn.
Andy & Clare ( with Cellist Brian Mullan) also perform at smaller venues as a semi-acoustic trio ( Davis Lindley Mullan -DLM for short),and they too will be playing a number of gigs in 2015.

After the last 9 years of travelling the length and breadth of this sceptered Isle we have decided it is time to "call it a day". The last tour will take place between September and December 2015 and we do hope that you will join us to celebrate our achievements at one ( or more ! ) of the gigs we have arranged. Full details of the dates are listed on the Gigs Page - keep checking as more might be added. See you there !

A short history

Stackridge constantly tour the U.K with new material and songs from their classic 1970's British pop albums: "Stackridge", "Friendliness" and the George Martin produced "The Man in the Bowler Hat" - regarded by many to be George Martin's finest creation outside of his Beatles canon. Elton John signed them to his own Rocket Records and released two more albums "Extravaganza" and "Mr.Mick".

Stackridge performed at the first ever Glastonbury Festival, were a favourite band of the late John Peel and were voted fourth in the Melody Maker's Brightest Hope Poll - above Genesis and Wings!

Since they reformed they have not only delighted their faithfull followers from the 1970's ( who though they would never see their favourite band again), but they have gained a new following of younger fans , in particular young musicians who cite them as being a huge influence.
