Stackridge: The missing jewel in the crown that is British pop music

Stackridge reformed in 2007 and are performing, writing and recording again. Their current Album "A Victory For Common Sense" was produced by Chris Hughes who has cast his magic spell over recordings by Robert Plant,Paul McCartney and Tears For Fears.

Writers Andy Davis and James Warren also formed the successful duo The Korgis with International Hit Singles including the ever popular "Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime", which was featured on the soundtrack of the Jim Carrey movie "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind". Their songs have been covered by a variety of artists including Rod Stewart, Beck, Zucchero, Manhattan Transfer and Richard Thompson.

Stackridge made their American Television debut to great acclaim on Monday March 14th 2011 on The Craig Ferguson Late Late Show on CBS TV

Stackridge

Veterans of the first Glastonbury Festival

Stackridge performed at the first ever Glastonbury Festival in 1970. They also appeared at The Glastonbury Festival again in 1999, 2000 and 2008.

For their 2008 appearance they were interviewed and filmed live for BBC Television's Breakfast show and hit the headlines in the National Press.

In 2011 Stackridge once again proved they are THE band that UK Festival audiences love , regardless of age , musical tastes or preferences. With barnstorming appearances at the Sonic Rock Festival , The Cornbury Festival & The Rhythms Of The World Festival they not only thrilled die hard fans who had travelled across the country to see them ,but won over a whole new audience that perhaps were unaware of their history and the depth & breadth of their music.

After another busy year in 2012, including a Spring Tour and in December some Christmas Specials the band took a well earned break during the Winter. April 2013 sees them taking to the road again with concerts & Festival appearances running through to June.

"Stackridge are a fascinating group, delightful and uncategorisable"
Stuart Maconie, BBC Radio 6

A short history

Stackridge constantly tour the U.K with new material and songs from their classic 1970's British pop albums: "Stackridge", "Friendliness" and the George Martin produced "The Man in the Bowler Hat" - regarded by many to be George Martin's finest creation outside of his Beatles canon. Elton John signed them to his own Rocket Records and released two more albums "Extravaganza" and "Mr.Mick".

Stackridge performed at the first ever Glastonbury Festival, were a favourite band of the late John Peel and were voted fourth in the Melody Maker's Brightest Hope Poll - above Genesis and Wings!
